The Door Easel

In a small studio, it is essential to maximize space. The door has become a support, thanks to blue artists tape. The 40” x 50” watercolor paper from Jerry’s down the street, once gessoed, fits nicely.

Painting on paper with (first) acrylic, then oil, takes on a process of its own. You can see from this earlier step in the work, the primatura of iron red acrylic exerts influence on color and hue.
